This weekend, the 2025 Cannes Film Festival officially came to a close—and we at Vogue are still processing all of the glamorous fashions that hit the Croisette this year. Given the annual festival is one of the glitziest events of the entertainment industry calendar, it was only natural that A-list stars came armed with their most impressive gowns and suits. And yet, even with all of the traditional evening wear in the mix, this year’s assortment of fashions still felt entirely modern—and at times, quite unexpected too.
The week’s best dressed stars? It was those who leaned into sophisticated dressing with more individual finishes. Think: Rihanna with her vampy maternity style, or Alexander Skarsgård with his quirky suiting looks. (The sequin Bianca Saunders pants? We are still thinking about them.) While there were plenty of other statement looks throughout the festival, Vogue has rounded up the 11 celebrities who had the most standout outfits of the week. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.
Below, behold the 11 best dressed stars from the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

Working with longtime stylist Samantha McMillen, Fanning hit the Cannes festival to promote her new film Sentimental Value. The star’s wardrobe was all about embodying that elegant Cannes energy with youthful accents. Take her frothy blue Chanel couture princess gown, or her golden sequined Valentino gown with a plunging neckline. Her looks were the perfect mix of elegance meets quirkiness.
A$AP Rocky and Rihanna

Call them the power couple of Cannes: A$AP Rocky and Rihanna made a splash throughout the film festival. Rocky, who stars in the new Spike Lee film Highest 2 Lowest, looked dapper in his Miu Miu suits and tuxedos, while Rihanna supported her man in chic looks—such as her sky-blue Alaïa gown with cutouts. Individually, they brought their unique fashion flavor to Cannes—but it was even better when combined.

While Cannes is often associated with extravagance and over-the-top glamour, Johnson and stylist Kate Young proved that minimalism can also shine at the festival. Together, the pair chose streamlined and pared-back designs that still made an impact. Take her Barbie pink Gucci gown adorned with fringed tassels, or her simple black LBD—also by Gucci—that featured Horsebit hardware along the open back. Her looks were proof that stealthy-chic still has a place on red carpets.
Alexander Skarsgard

A style star is born: Alexander Skarsgård proved to be one of the most unexpected fashion hits of the week, while promoting his new film, Pillion. Working with stylist Harry Lambert (who also delivered winning looks on Josh O’Connor), Skarsgard embraced personality and cheekiness. Take his leather pants and vintage tee combo, or his sequined Bianca Saunders pants worn with a traditional tuxedo blazer and bow-tie. His looks were worthy of a leading man—but way more fun, and entirely unpredictable.
Halle Berry

As one of the official jury members of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, Berry was bound to deliver a plentiful array of spellbinding fashions. (Given she has to attend all the premieres!). Working with stylist Maryam Malakpour, Berry opted for ornate and formal evening wear that an event like Cannes demands. Take her floral-adorned Chanel suit with a black bow tie, or her shimmering Gucci gown covered in crystals. The ensembles all read one word: Rich.
Bella Hadid

It wouldn’t be a Cannes Film Festival without the presence of a supermodel (or several), and Bella Hadid proved to be one of the chicest in town (alongside other supers like Naomi Campbell and Cara Delevingne). Her slinky black Saint Laurent gown, with a strappy open back, was the talk of the opening ceremony. But even her off-duty looks—like a structured white corset top—or a simple black dress with an impressive diamond choker—adhered to the glamorous feel of Cannes.
Jeremy Strong

Cannes jury member and Succession star Jeremy Strong delivered a rainbow assortment of dapper looks this week—and quite literally so, as he wore virtually every shade of the color wheel. Wearing a variety of designs from labels like Loro Piana and Lanvin, Strong embraced pastel tones that gave his formal suits a modern and fresh feel. From minty green to sky blue, he was one of the week’s more exuberant and smile-inducing dressers—even though he couldn’t crack one himself. Bonus points for his signature accessory—a well-placed bucket hat.
Jennifer Lawrence

In town to promote her new film Die, My Love alongside co-star Robert Pattinson, Lawrence brought major A-list energy to Cannes. As a longtime face of Dior, she unsurprisingly wore plenty of looks from the French fashion house—all of which leaned into an Old Hollywood sensibility. For her splashy film premiere, she chose a white pleated strapless style that was inspired by a 1940s design from Dior’s archives, yet it felt just as current and timeless today. Her more bohemian and free-spirits looks for the photo calls? Just as paparazzi-worthy.
Eva Longoria

As a longtime Cannes attendee, Eva Longoria knows how to deliver a memorable red carpet moment at the festival. This year, Longoria worked with stylist Maeve Reilly on an array of refined looks that revolved around shimmer, shine, and yes, even more metallics. Highlights included her blue sequined Elie Saab halter gown, or a paneled champagne-gold Tamara Ralph creation with a dramatic train. Simply nobody did disco ball dressing better than Longoria this festival. Ready the dance floor!
Kristen Stewart

One of Cannes’s more risk-taking dressers, Stewart leaned into edgy Chanel looks that were equal parts dressy and casual. The star—who made her directorial debut with her film, The Chronology of Water—nonchalantly paired tweed cardigans with sheer tulle skirts, and pulled off short suits with socks-and-heels and ties. And, debuted a pink dip dye while she was at it. She was a celebrity who refreshingly nodded to the glamour of Cannes without losing her individuality in the process. Turns out, formal doesn’t have to mean boring. And the best dressed stars of the week, as seen above, all understood that assignment.
